Radioddity GD-77 Manually entering a talkgroup or private call dmrid

Sometimes you may want to talk on a talkgroup that has not beenprefdefined.
The Radioddity running OpenGD77 is made for this. It is really easy to manually enter the contact information for a Group or Private call. There are basically two scenarios: One, you do have the contact defined in your contact list but it is not included in the current zone definition. The other use case occurs when you want to connect to a talkgroup that has never been defined as a contact. You also need to be able to make either a group call or private call.

To make a Group Call

Start with the radio in DMR mode (i.e. DIGITAL not FM/Simplex ) and either in the VFO or the Channel screen:
  1. Press the "#" key to enter Group Call: [The top of the screen will indicate “TG entry”]
  2. Enter the talkgroup # e.g. 214 or the DMRID (if to another radio)
  3. Press the Green menu key to confirm, or the Red menu key to exit.

To make a Private Call
Start with the radio in DMR mode (i.e. DIGITAL not FM/Analog) and either in the VFO or the Channel screen:
  1. Press the "#" key twice to enter Private Call: [The top of the screen will indicate “PC entry”]
  2. Enter the talkgroup # e.g. 214 or the DMRID (if to another radio)
  3. Press the Green menu key to confirm, or the Red menu key to exit.

Note: If you make a mistake when entering the number, press the Left arrow key to erase the entries one at a time.
The Radioddity GD-77 running OpenGD77 does not need to be placed into promiscuous mode as this is the normal state. In fact, this implementation operates in what could be called super-promiscuous-mode.
